Most of the region covered by the authority is Arid and Semi-Arid therefore experiences frequent droughts, which affect and impact negatively on the community's way of life which is pastoral. Harvesting and storage of water during the rainy season is a critical intervention in addressing the effects of drought and enhancing productivity of livestock in the the organization's regions. The authority constructed 70 waterpans in Narok County between 2014 and 2016.

Project Benefits: The project has provided water for about 20,000 people and 162,000 livestock.
